New BLS Spain office in Bogota: Location, costs, and essential advice

Everything about the relocation to Carrera 20B #77-05, counter cash requirements, and how to avoid unneeded service fees on your appointment day.

Arriving at the old office on Carrera 13 only to find closed shutters is a common setback. Since April 29, 2026, the BLS International Spain Visa Application Centre in Bogota operates at a new location: Carrera 20B #77-05, Local 02.

The new facility maintains the same operating procedures: reviews frequently highlight surprise add-on fees, mandatory cash payments, and restrictions on storing suitcases or mobile phones upon entry.

Exact address and operating hours

The center is situated in the Los Heroes / El Lago area, near TransMilenio stations Calle 76 and Heroes. In-person visa application drop-off runs Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm, while passport collection is restricted to 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

Luggage policy and electronic device storage

Building security prohibits entry with rolling suitcases, oversized backpacks, or large packages. If you are arriving from cities like Medellin, Cali, or Barranquilla, store your bags at an external locker before heading to the office.

Surrounding businesses charge between 5,000 and 10,000 COP to hold bags or turned-off phones. Travel light and bring your documents in a clean transparent plastic folder to ensure immediate access.

Cash requirements and fee transparency

Although national student visas carry zero consular fees for Colombian citizens, BLS charges a mandatory outsourcing service fee approved by the Spanish government. Additional counter services are frequently offered at an extra charge.

Always bring exact cash in smaller bill denominations. Payment card terminals often experience connectivity issues, and counters rarely hold change for large bills.
