Tracking your passport with Domesa after your BLS Colombia appointment

What to do if your BLS Colombia Domesa guide does not update or appears inactive: delivery times, claims in Bogotá and how to recover your passport.

The status of your visa on the BLS website changed to 'Passport Dispatched via Courier', they gave you a guide number from the Domesa company, you go to their web portal to track it and the system says: 'Guide book not found' or it remains inactive for days while your flight date gets dangerously close. We explain how Domesa logistics works in Colombia and how to act to recover your passport in time.

How does the BLS - Domesa Logistics Circuit Work in Bogotá?

When the Spanish Consulate returns the processed passport to the BLS offices on Carrera 20B, the administrative staff generates a shipping label from the courier company Domesa Colombia.

The tracking number is generated in the computer system at the time the label is printed, but Domesa does not activate it in its real-time tracking platform until its collection truck physically picks up the suitcase of packages from the BLS headquarters and enters it at the main collection center in Bogotá (a process that can take between 24 and 72 business hours).

The Most Frequent Problems and Delivery Failures

  1. Lag in the Web TrackerThe Domesa Colombia website is usually updated with a delay with respect to the real location of the package.
  2. Failed Attempts without Prior NoticeThe Domesa courier goes to the address indicated in Bogotá, Medellín, Cali or other cities and, if no one is found or the bell does not work, it dials 'Address not found' or 'Recipient absent' without making a prior phone call.
  3. Complex Delivery AddressIf you live in a closed complex or urbanization with confusing nomenclature, the guide may be retained in a regional warehouse.
